This is a great example of Australian potter William Rickett's work and was sold by us for $7200 some years ago.
He began working with clay in Melbourne in the 1920s and in the mid 1930s set up a studio and wildlife sanctuary in the Dandenong Ranges.
Here he made large sculptures reflecting his love and close connection to the Australian Aboriginal spiritual culture and Australian animals.
He passed away in 1993.
The sanctuary is open to the public and is a beautiful place to visit.
