Collector News

The second Ocean Grove Uniting Church valuation day was a great success. All money raised is for the Share Winter Appeal. This year the Church was used to allow more room and those waiting were able to watch items on a large screen while listening to items being valued. The large selection of items was entertaining. Interesting things included a large Crown Devon musical jug commemorating the coronation of Edward V111 who abdicated, a c1750 Battersea enamel patch box, a collection of magic lantern slides, which included images of Japanese atrocities in the Russo-Japanese war, Certificate for the inaugural President of the R.S.L., an unusual Art Deco pierced work brooch, fantastic hand painted oriental fan in glass case and a Georgian sterling silver jug.
The ladies did a wonderful job providing afternoon tea and a special thanks to Beryl for her pumpkin soup.

Sunbury Valuation Day

The Sunbury valuation Day was well attended and went very well. Adam and Vanessa were kept very busy all afternoon and all proceeds will support the Sunbury Chaplaincy.

The most expensive piece valued was an original Albert Namatjira water colour.  Adam gave a talk on the history of Albert Namatjira which was most interesting.

The Sunbury Chaplaincy Committee did a great job organising the event along with Wayne Urmston, who kindly displayed part of his collection of diecast model airplanes and ambulances, and kindly gave up his precious sleep time as he was working night shift that evening.  Hope he managed!!
