Rock, Pop & Retro Round-up

Valuation Days Round-up

Our November 3rd Rock, Pop & Retro sale was a lot of fun, and we had some fantastic results.

The highlight of the night was the Featherston chair and stool. They sold for a combined total of $4453 including buyers premium.

We have had the pleasure of being invited to two valuation days recently.
In August, Adam Truscott and Vanessa Crew took part in the Swan Hill Pioneer Week Antiques and Collectables road show which was held at the Town Hall. A very full day was spent valuing items.
These included a Fanny Rhead vase, an early Steiff donkey in amazing condition, a Don Bradman ceramic character jug, some fabulous toys and a set of solid ivory billiard balls that were owned by a gentleman who beat Walter Lindrum.
Unfortunately some people were turned away. The day was a huge success and some exciting and rare items were appraised. We look forward to next year’s event which promises to be even bigger.
A special thanks to Rob Duffield and his family for organizing the day.

Last Saturday saw us at a valuation day hosted by the Narre Warren & District Family History Group.
We were kept busy from 11 am until 3.00 pm. Items appraised included a Galle cameo glass vase, a
Colonial painting of Government House, Sydney and a heavy carved ivory box bought back from India by a World War 11 soldier.

We really enjoyed hearing the stories attached to certain items and kept reminding people to write
relevant history down and keep it with the item for future generations.

Rock, Pop & Retro

Other furniture to sell well was a large 14 draw chest of drawers for $244, a Summertone desk for $321, a Rocket floor lamp for $183 and a Danish Deluxe lounge suite for $156.

A number of 1970s/80s bikes also sold well, including a Raleigh 'Chopper' 5 speed, which fetched $341
